home is behind, the world ahead

Home. The meaning of the word, previously well-known and solid by many, is starting to be questioned by some. Our students are just finishing up their Junior year of high school, and soon they'll all have to start thinking of creating a new home for themselves, whether it be in the comforting familiarity of Lima, the exhilarating bright lights of New York City, or perhaps somewhere else entirely.

Regionals ended a few weeks ago, with the New Directions coming in last place against both the Dalton Academy Warblers and Carmel High's Vocal Adrenaline; the latter going on to place 10th at the National Show Choir Championships in May. Can the New Directions last after yet another crushing Regionals defeat? How will Vocal Adrenaline cope after not winning Nationals for the first time in eight years? That's up to you to decide. Our players have the whole world ahead of them, and their choices in these next few months can easily sway how harsh that world is going to be to them in the future.

The World Ahead is an AU Glee roleplay set during the summer after season two. We aim to be as interactive and inclusive as possible by allowing suggestions and voting on certain events, such as show choir competitions, prom, and a summer musical set up by Harmony. Take a look at the 'about' page to find out more!

No, we do not take reservations in this roleplay. If you’re worried about a role being filled before you have a chance to get your application in, you can request that I keep the role open for a bit. However, that does not guarantee your acceptance.

Probably not. I’m never going to completely rule out the possibility (especially if you send in an application with a really fantastic bio and kick-ass plot ideas), but it’s not likely.

We do not and will never accept any of the above.

Please look at the OOC and Ships page for the answer to this question for taken characters. For open characters, it’s up to the applicant to request an endgame ship, but it must be either the other half of a taken character’s endgame or with a character who also does not yet have an endgame.

I try to be as true to the characters as possible here, which means that an influx of gay pairings isn’t very realistic. I’m certainly not going to automatically deny your application if your character is of a different sexuality than in canon— I understand that people like a multitude of different ships, and I respect that. But on the occasion that your requested OTP is two characters of the same gender and we already have quite a lot of it here, you might be denied. Just check the OOC & Ships page, first! In regards to individual characters, Nick here is confused about his feelings and is either bisexual or just a straight boy in love with another boy, while the Santana in this roleplay is bisexual.

Trust me when I say that it was not at all a personal decision. This roleplay calls for a certain type of character and a certain type of person to play that character. Just because you weren’t accepted, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have a good grasp on your character or that you’re not a good writer. It just means that I’m looking for someone who fits that type of character and person precisely, and I won’t accept someone unless I’m absolutely positive that they do. Please do not be offended— it’s my job as the admin to make difficult decisions.
