Home. The meaning of the word, previously well-known and solid by many, is starting to be questioned by some. Our students are just finishing up their Junior year of high school, and soon they'll all have to start thinking of creating a new home for themselves, whether it be in the comforting familiarity of Lima, the exhilarating bright lights of New York City, or perhaps somewhere else entirely.
Regionals ended a few weeks ago, with the New Directions coming in last place against both the Dalton Academy Warblers and Carmel High's Vocal Adrenaline; the latter going on to place 10th at the National Show Choir Championships in May. Can the New Directions last after yet another crushing Regionals defeat? How will Vocal Adrenaline cope after not winning Nationals for the first time in eight years? That's up to you to decide. Our players have the whole world ahead of them, and their choices in these next few months can easily sway how harsh that world is going to be to them in the future.
The World Ahead is an AU Glee roleplay set during the summer after season two. We aim to be as interactive and inclusive as possible by allowing suggestions and voting on certain events, such as show choir competitions, prom, and a summer musical set up by Harmony. We are leaving the possibility of reopening sometime in the future, maybe when Harmony’s musical is scheduled to open, or at the beginning of the school year. We’ve just lost so many members and are unable to find almost any applicants to either replace them or take on other characters, that we have no choice but to close. We all love it here, but there’s really no way to go forward from this point.

I actually did not know that people shipped Thad and Sebastian. I guess you learn something knew every day.
But I don’t think I would add Thad. I’m sorry, but I don’t see how he would work with the other characters, and he isn’t a very popular one, so the odds of accepting and maintaining a Thad are very small. We currently have 11 open characters right now, and I worked on their bios so they’d each have some sort of struggle or goal and some way to interact with many people in the roleplay, and I’d like to see those roles fill up.

After graduating from Carmel last year and winning the National Show Choir Championship, Jesse thought that his life from then on would be golden. Only it ended up actually being a little more like bronze, or those silk ribbons they give the runners-up. He’d been accepted at UCLA (in Los Angeles), where he, coming from a place where he was revered on a pedestal, expected to be the cream of the crop. But once he arrived and attended a few classes, he realized that he was nothing but just another fish in an immensely talented pond. His ego battered and bruised, Jesse returned to Ohio after only a semester, dedicating his time now to coaching those in Vocal Adrenaline and preparing them for the harsh reality of the world that he had to face. If anyone asked about his return, he would merely say that he found his true calling in show choir, hiding his shame and fears about not being as talented as he’d always thought. He still puts on his overly-confident and slightly arrogant persona, but feels that he needs to now focus on some smaller, more achievable dreams than gracing the Broadway stages with his presence. Dreams starting and finishing right where he currently was: in Akron, Ohio.
Jesse’s endgame ship is St. Berry, even though he doesn’t yet realize that he might still have the smallest of lingering feelings for Rachel. Since the roleplay began, Jesse has recently reunited with Rachel (x), Vocal Adrenaline placed a shocking 10th at Nationals under his coaching, and he was cast in the ensemble of Cinderella after unsuccessfully trying out for the Prince. We’re looking for someone who can play more of a season one & three Jesse— more clever and sarcastic, and less (for lack of a better word) stupid than his season two counterpart.

Still waiting to see whether it’s temporary or permanent, but it’s not just me, I swear.
In the past two days, I’ve made a few changes to the roleplay, which I feel will help us both attract new members and be less stifling towards creativity. I’ve modified some old ideas of mine that just weren’t working, and implemented some new ones.
